Troop reductions != Withdrawal

I just heard our esteemed minister for foreign affairs, The Hon. Alexander Downer, MP, say that Tony Blair is not withdrawing his troops, he’s reducing the number…

I’m sorry he got cut off (it was only a news preview), because I’m so sure the rest of his sentence would have made sense!! Not!

    Have I posted here before… Oh brain hurt…

    Any way, as much as people (your garden variety tree huggers and bleeding heart democrats who are nothing more then political whores anyway) may disagree with me and as much as I think invading Iraq was a bad idea: Withdrawing troops from Iraq is a horrible approach to the problem.

    It (Iraq) will become (more so then already) another breeding ground for terrorists and extremist groups from Iran, Syria, Chechnya, Pakistan, etc . It will become the new Gaza. If anything they need more troops (and perhaps more aggressive actions).

    Now excuse me but I need to go and purchase a four wheel drive so I can squash some hippies.

    Peace-out dude.

    Hmmm, instability created by withdrawing troops now certainly won’t help, but that situation tends tobe initiated by sending a military force into the area *in the first place*.

    It’s a simplistic approach, but imo, the US should just pull everyone out now and remember it’s a dumb idea to go crusading into other countries for next time…

    Of course, the problem with that idea being that decision makers in the US don’t seem capable of recognising dumb ideas before it’s too late. US voters seem to be learning though.

    Damn us? Right, right you Mr Balbo just made my list of hippies to squash with my gas gobbling, yet to be purchased, green house emitting, global warming contributing four wheel drive!!!

    @Jebas
    I am not debating that it was a bad idea to go into Iraq. I said it was a bad idea. Crusading into other countries is also a bad idea especially when one gets their own ass handed back to them as is the case with the US.

    However, pulling out of Iraq now is an even worst idea.
